I recently came across this article and it left me saddened to see people getting ripped off, but also left me with a revelation…This is why you buy excess inventory from somewhere with customer care: http://tinyurl.com/aq8ht2

If you are like me, and trying to find deals online that you can resell to make some much needed cash, BEWARE of U-Bid. Sure , you get some great deals, but pay attention to there shipping charges. They are a major rip off. By the time you get your items, they are back up to almost retail price.
They are also slightly dishonest in there marketing.
I bought 12 items for $1.00 each , sold as glowing pond lights.
After shipping, the 12 cost me almost $70.00.
1st ripoff – they came in two packs. That is how they were packed by the manufacturer. Should have been resold the same way.
2nd rippoff – I got six boxes of two, which would not have cost more than $15.00 total to ship to me.
3rd ripoff – On the auction site they show this glowing ball floating in a pond. When the items arrived, the packaging called the items solar powered CHRISTMAS ACCENT LIGHT!. I bought these to try and resell, and my ads follwed the auction site. Now I have to explain to anyone interested why the package doesn’t reflect that use.
4th ripoff – Yes they do float. I put 2 in my pool. THEY ARE NOT WATERTIGHT! They worked for 1 day, and then filled with water and stopped working.
BEWARE WHAT YOU BUY ON THIS SITE!

Alan,
This is Ryan from uBid…thank you for your post and we appreciate your input. Hopefully it does not come as a shock to you that our main concern does not involve helping you re-sell our merchandise to make extra cash. While I agree some of our sellers have high shipping rates, we are working to correct that. At the same time, the shipping charges can be calculated right on the product page before you bid, so I’m not sure how you could accuse us of being deceitful. If you have problems or concerns with your products, I strongly encourage you to call our excellent Customer Care Center at 1-866-WIN-UBID that can be found on every page of the site. Thanks again for your comments.
